The MedFit medical examination's frequency is every two years.

Can I perform my examination out of the International SOS accredited medical centres?

For a question of quality of services, MedFit examinations must be performed within the International SOS accredited medical centres network. Choose the medical centre that is closest to your place of assignment. If the list does not show any medical centre in your country of assignment, take advantage of one of your professional or personal journeys to have your health assessment performed. Do not make a journey just to perform this assessment. Contact your HR/Crewing Manager to consider the forms of arrangements for this journey.

Can I have the information in language other than English?

Due to the international nature of the MedFit program and PGS, all information within the application is managed in English.

Where do I send the MedFit report?

MedFit reports will be automatically sent by the accredited medical centres via the online data capture in the MedFit website or via our MedFit Box. Is my medical information confidential?

International SOS manages all medical information for the MedFit program. Examination result details are not communicated to HSE or Personnel managers unless there is a major public health concern that threatens the safety and health of other people and your consent has been provided. It is only shared with your Company's medical department when needed.

Can an employee be released if he/she is judged unfavorable?

The company will handle this on a case-by-case basis, usually reassigning people from a field position to an office job or to another country.

Why is the examining doctor's fitness status not always the same as the one of International SOS?

The Examining Doctor or Medical Provider that has performed your MedFit examination may not always be aware of the PGS's work environment and the specific constraints of your job or your location. This explains why the Examining Doctor's fitness status is a temporary one. Your MedFit questionnaire will be reviewed and your associated medical fitness status determined by International SOS doctors and by the PGS's Medical Advisor.

How do I know if I have a health issue following my examination?

PGS's Medical Advisor will contact you directly in order to inform you of any important health issues. He may provide advice, recommendations, request that you see a specialist or that you or your treating physician contact him in order to discuss and resolve the issue.
