The purpose of the medical examination under the MedFit program is to reduce the medical risks of the employees (and their family when relevant) in relation to the high mobility which applies to many jobs in the company and the unequal/inconsistent level of protection provided by local labor regulations and local medical facilities in the large number of countries concerned. Additionally, the online access provides the employees concerned with an easier access to the results of the medical examination.
The medical examination under the MedFit program is subject to various applicable laws and regulations including data protection laws, medical and health regulations, and medical profession’s ethical and confidentiality agreements. PGS will comply with all such applicable laws and regulations, and will not, as an employer, have access to the results of the medical examination. Only PGS Medical Doctor, and International SOS, which provides the MedFit program will have access to such results. Both PGS Medical Doctor and International SOS are subject to medical profession’s ethical and confidentiality agreements.
The rights of access and rectification and objection on legitimate grounds of the employees, and the steps taken by PGS to comply with applicable laws and regulations notably the French Act n°78-17 of 6 January 1978 on information technology, data files and civil liberties (for e.g. adequate confidentiality and security measures in order to protect and maintain the data in a secured manner), are explained in the consent form which is a part of the medical or online questionnaire filled up by the employees prior to the medical examination.
The results of the medical examination are stored for a period of 30 years.
